Welcome to the Laughing Mountain website! Laughing Mountain is a 200 acre farm of organic gardens, orchards, and award-winning forestry located high in the Cascade foothills of the Methow Valley. It is entirely powered by an extensive state of the art solar electric system, and has multiple solar water heating facilities. Two custom built earth-bermed homes take advantage of passive solar heating, and the beautiful views. Because of its microclimate in a warm bowl off of the valley floor, it is isolated from many of the pests and weeds of other farms.
Come visit! Laughing Mountain is a participant in the WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) program. 'WWOOFers', spend time on a host farm, learn about the organic movement and sustainable agriculture, and receive room and board - with no money exchanged between hosts and WWOOFers. Participants who visit Laughing Mountain will have hands on experience with fruit, vegetable, and berry growing, as well as homebuilding and forestry.
